Go to Kangwondo.
If you haven't seen snow before, it's highly over-rated. |

Actually at mountain temples, snow is close to mystical, IMHO. |

Overated? by who? I usually hear only bad things about snow, but I love the stuff. Much better than rain, any day of the week. |

ChopChaeJoe--- Where do you live? If you're in Seoul, the Paju area is your best bet for an easy trip.
But if you're in Gwangju, or simply willing to make a longer trek, Jiri mountain has the mystical snowscape-with-temple you'd be looking for. The summit is quite high and gets at least a little snow for more than half of the year, with tons of cabins and other campgrounds. I went there two Aprils ago, and it was great, friendly park rangers and guides, and a lot of really chill Korean and foreign tourists to share the experience with.
I've heard that Ullengdo is pretty snow heavy too--- in a beautiful way, although that's a REAL pain to get to. |

Pain to get to? Try pain to get back from.
Last winter vacation my then girlfriend and I were stuck on the island an extra week past our planned departure day. Daily AM snowfall of up to a meter kept the ferries from making the crossing and they only started them up again after the island became dangerously short on supplies. The ferry trip back to the mainland was not a pretty sight. |
