I went to Burger King....delicious.

Also, there is a nice new-ish japanese noodle place next to Craze Burger.

Name is Hakoya....if you have ever lived in Japan it is the same styl Japanesee noodle and Donkas. Actually reminded a lot of Yoshinoya, except double the price.

I went Hakoya and really enjoyed it. My GF didn't like it so haven't had a chance to go back.

Is BK in Youngji dong?

BK is behind the jungwoosanga building...if you don't know this it is diagonally across the road from Emart where the big bus stop is.

Cheers. Went and scouted it out and it was where I guessed it would be. There are some decent options in that area now. Kebab store would make my day.

Been a while since I looked at this thread.

I have been to O Briens a few times and the food there is great. He really needs to fix the ventilation system in that place though.

Bombay is still good for the occasional dinner when I need to whet my appetite for some curry. Still don't think it is value for money but not too bad.

I saw another Indian restaurant opened as well, Taj Mahal. All i can say is avoid, avoid, avoid. Prices the same as bombay but worse than a curry from Maya and decor from a 70s Indian bollywood movie. Went twice and there will not be a repeat visit.

Outback has lost any credibility. Not sure what it is like in the rest of the country but here in Changwon it is deplorable. The last 2 times I have been there has been sweet butter on my jacket potato. You can pass one off as fodder for the culinary impaired. They also got rid of that mushroom sauce and now only have some sweet bbq sauce which is criminal to use on steak. The only saving grace are the ribs which are still good. Don;t even mention VIPs or Bennigans.

Anything new that has been opened in town to have a look at?

I may be offered a job in a middle school in Changwon. It's called Dogye Middle School, I think.

But I may get an interview with a hagwon in Bundang or an Avalon hagwon in Busan.

I've never worked in a public school so it may be a safer choice to go with the hagwon but Changwon sounds nice and I like the hours of a public school. Ah, what should I do?

In the Canberra Hotel building right? I feel sorry for the guy (a big Sikh fella), He was really good about my dietary needs and had a nice family (though he should hire a baby sitter). But, the food just wasn't that good, and his check machine broke down, and I didn't want to pay cash and leave, and end up paying twice.

Maya is great value in my opinion.

Hopefully he bucks up his game, as I go to restaurants for the food not the decor. If I did, I wouldn't ever set foot in Bennigans.

Only been once in three years. Not my cup of tea.

For Foreigner Bar is by far the best bar in town in my opinion. I avoid O'Briens like the plague these days.

I live here. I did a little blog last year:

http://www.koreabridge.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8556

Theres alot of new stuff in Masan and nearby. A new Indian restaurant run by 3 Indian cooks in Dae-Gori (in front of GN University). Theres 2 Japanese ramen places as well (pretty good). Theres a Outback coming to HapSeong-Dong in Masan. A lot of coffee shops, of course. ShinsaeGae in Masan has a Starbucks, Mister Donuts, and a Burger King in the basement.

I kinda agree that if you don't drink, theres not much too do, but thats kind of true for most cities here. I always say Korea is best for sports guys. A lot of space and great facilities that aren't really used that much. Korea is a great place for the independent and little grissled Smile.

I notice A Twosome Place has opened up in Sangnamdong near the fountain. They have some half-decent sandwiches in there. Don't go stealing them all though Wink

I went to For Foreigner Bar twice now. First time it was boiling hot in there (but very busy though) and the second time there was nobody and seemed like a big black cavern.
Will stick to O'briens. I had some soft-shell tacos in there last week. Very good.
