I want to establish a better morning routine. I am an early riser and love mornings, but I want this time to be more constructive and foundational to the day. I would like to hear about your routines. Thanks you

I find the mornings to be excellent times to exercise. Fewer people out and about, and it get's my metabolism going for the day. Plus, I'm less cranky. I also do my best reading in the AM so long as there's a good cup of coffee paired with the book.

Constructive? What do you want to accomplish with your mornings? If I don't have to do anything in the morning, I don't. But I get up so early that after 9am I don't really consider it "the morning" any more.

I have to wake up at 6am every day. I grew up on a farm, so early mornings are no big deal for me.
I have to catch an early train from Monday to Friday, so there's not much I can offer. However, because my body clock is set at 6am, I wake early on the weekends as well.
My typical Saturday is a 6am wake up. I usually make a bunch of pancakes for my wife and I for breakfast. Following this, I study Korean for an hour or so. My first coffee. I also work as an artist in Korea, so I continue working on a project before the Mrs wakes up, and we eat breakfast together.
Then it's off to the boxing gym (around 10am) after which I meet my wife for lunch, or head home to cook lunch. (My hobby is cooking)
This is generally repeated on Sunday, except for the boxing part.
It feels good to get a lot of things done before 10 or 11am. Especially the Korean study. My wife also enjoys the food!

6:10 - Alarm, snooze
6:20 - Alarm again. Roll over, grab the macbook, surf news sites, facebook, email, and youtube.
6:35 - Get up. Pee. Fix breakfast (banana, strawberry, apple, oranges)
6:45 - Shower (shampoo hair, shave face, brush teeth, floss, tongue scrape, mouth wash, wash body, wash face, rinse... yes, in that order)
7:20 - Make bed, lay out clothes for the day
7:35 - Fix hair
7:40 - Get dressed
8:00 - Make sure house is straight, throw on ipod, walk out door
8:15 - Stop at corner mart, pick up coffee, bottle water, breath mints, protein bar
8:25 - Arrive at school, clock in
8:30 - Get to classroom, turn on computer, drink coffee, relax for 15 minutes before students start rolling in.

Yes, my morning routine is that time specific. It's been that way for about 2 years. I'm not actually fond of routines, but I'm not a morning person, and it's the only way I can get out of bed this early and make it to work on time.

I'm very detail oriented. It's an OCD, over achiever thing.

After a well rested night, no, I don't hate mornings.

Mornings are kind of neat. My daughter and cat come to my bed for a cuddle and we chat (that's me and the kid, the cat just purrs) and stuff before we get up. Cute.

Preface: 3:30am - go to sleep
8 - alarm goes off, reset it for 8:10
8:10 - roll out of bed, check e-mail
8:12 (I don't get much mail Sad ) - eat breakfast - typically, a bowl of cereal, brownie, 2 oranges, a string cheese, and a muffin
8:25-8:30 - get changed and head to the bus stop
8:35-8:50 - waiting for the bus/riding to school
8:55 - sit and wait for the students to finally wake me up (doesn't always happen--and on those days, my students ask me why I look like a zombie, but they love zombies, so it's not a big problem. In fact, one of my kids delivered a speech about why zombies are his heroes during an open class I had recently)

This has been my routine since August--I don't know how much longer the sleep deprivation and ridiculous caloric intake (which continues on throughout the day) will sustain me. I'll probably die.
