What is the deal on avatars. I know they were taken away and I know why, but I've noticed there are many newer members that have joined in 2009 that have avatars. Posters like Old Gil, Steelrails, Bloopity Bloop...
Did I miss something? Is a certain number of posts required or something? Or do you just have to know a mod? |

| I thought it was if you joined before a certain month this year you were good, but apparently not since you joined before me and don't have one. |

Well one of the members I mentioned above, I think it was Old Gil, joined in Sep this year and has an avatar.
So, I just wanna know what the deal is. |

| You have to reach a certain number of posts (think it's 100, but don't quote me on that) after which an Avatar Control Panel will appear at the bottom of your profile page. |

I have over 200 posts now and nothing has come up on mine.
Some of the newer posters with avatars were, I believe, former posters. Perhaps that is why they have avatars? |

It's the Dave's Old Boy's Club 
Maybe they should administer some sort of test for you to get your avatar. Like pop cultural referencing and how many little things you know about the poster's here from reading about their internet lives.
