Hey, so I am a first time teacher and looking to move to Korea in February. I have already started the interview process and what I have been told is that Seoul is very competitive nowadays. However, I am used to living in big cities (Washington DC and San Diego) and really want to be in an area with a lot of expats.
One of the recruiters told me I would have a much easier time getting a job right outside of Seoul. Can anyone recommend areas nearby Seoul that would be fun for a 25 year old. I really enjoy socializing, going out drinking, chasing women etc., so any advice would be greatly appreciated. From doing a little bit of research, it looks like Suwon, Ansan, and Bucheon are popular choices.
If I can't find anything near Seoul I am going to look in the Busan area. I hear Daegu is a waste of time.
Thanks for your time. |

busan busan busan busan busan
busan is 3.65 million people strong and has beaches...tons of other foreigners and awesome nightlife. some people really like being in the HEART of seoul, hear less great things of being in the satellite cities, but not to say they are hell on earth. know a few peeps up in daegu and going to visit in a couple weeks. they seem to enjoy it. all in all though i am in love with busan and am glad i chose it over seoul. |

Busan rules! Seoul sucks!
Have lived in both. Actually Seoul doesn't suck, but it's far too
crowded, hectic, and full of itself.
It is the concrete jungle rat race!
Busan, the place and people, are so much nicer and the
expat scene is far friendlier.
