I realize this is getting pretty late, but I was looking for a spa/hotel to book for a night on christmas for me and my girlfriend. I was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions? Someone told me once about one in insadong but I dont know exactly where. Can anyone help me out with a suggestions? |

There's a decent Hotel / Jimjilbang in Ichon in south east Gyeonggi. They're supposed to have some sort of special mineral water or something. It's called Hotel Miranda. Not exactly a couples spa though. |

Ditto...need a romantic getaway spot for the GF and I. I've got the car rented and ready to go...just need a destination.
Pensions, resorts, anything...just something quiet and tucked away a bit. |

It seems pretty cold for outdoor spas... Best bet is to search for an old thread on good love motels with large in-room jacuzzis (whirlpools).
The most well-known one near Insadong is Hotel Tomgi (Jongno3 station, exit 4 (or 5 - whichever one has the escalator) Orange line 3 and Purple line 5. They tend to be crowded on weekends, and their jacuzzi rooms were about 120,000 won the last time I checked (about a year ago).
Hotel Lexi near Gangnam is a famous love motel - if you can find it - and their regular rooms reportedly run about 100,000 won.
Hotel Herb/Hotel Lavender (two adjacent hotels with same owner, I think) near the Nambu Bus terminal (line 3) has some nice suite rooms (80,000 won) with good size tubs equipped with jacuzzis, but most of them either don't work or are intentionally disabled for some reason.
I'd recommend going down to Busan for a big selection of love motels at much lower prices this time of year. When I was there this summer I stayed at one away from the beach, and it had a large jacuzzi (with overhead neon lights) sauna, large-screen TV/DVD player, computer, etc. for 40,000 won - even on the weekends.
I forget the name of that particular one - I found it by googling "best Busan motels" I think. |

Christmas eve is a couples day/night in Korea.
Many hotels charge peak prices at this time of the year.
Many will be already booked up.
Hope you find somewhere decent. |

The new Sheraton in Songdo, Incheon has a great deal for Xmas eve.
Dinner for two, magic show (!?), jazz band, champaign, nice hotel room, all spa facilities the next morning and B-fast (I think). 325,000 KRW.
They are a world class hotel with very few customers. |

There are plenty of pensions available. We booked one with a nice jacuzzi
However then interior for alot of the pensions are terrible. It seemed either stylish with no jacuzzi or terrible with jacuzzi. Anyway it will run you about 150,000 won for a night
Sorry I don't know the site though, my wife found it. |

if you are looking for a jacuzzi type then you will have to look for a love motel because hotels in seoul do not generally have jacuzzi type bathrooms, unless you spend crazy money for a suite or can afford a room at the park hyatt.
however, most nicer love motels are already booked so good luck with thtat. pensions nearby Seoul may offer some hope but are about half an hour away and generally not as good as love motels and most do not have spa type facilities. |

Great idea to get somewhere with an indoor jacuzzi. That could be an extra.
Been to Sorak san before and visited some of the jimjils there and some have outside spas.
Thought it would be great to sit ouside in the cold, possibly snow and enjoy a jacuzzi / hot tub with the lady.
We will have a car, so wondered if anyone knew anywhere nice in the countryside that would be worth a visit? |
