I am trying to track down a hagwon director for hagwon in Seoul that shut down in 2004, Kim's Boston English Institute. My problem is that I am applying for my license to practice law, and they require contact information for old employers. I cannot track them down! All I know about them is that they went by Jason Kim and Beronica Kim, and this hagwon, Kim's Boston, was in Geumho-dong, Korea.
Does anyone know of a way to track down these people? Is there any office that would have kept records of hagwon directors? Any helpwould be much appreciated. |

Talk to your old recruiter. Try to get your old bosses national id number, from there you can track them.
The other option would be to go into the local government office and they should have records.
Isn't there some form or something that if an employer is unreachable? What happens if one dies or emigrates without telling anyone, the employee can never be a lawyer? |

Thank you for your suggestions, blackjack, but unfortunately neither one is available in my circumstances--I did not get this job through a recruiter, and I cannot realistically travel to Seoul to get this information (I am in New Orleans, LA). I am thinking there may be an office I could call, though, right?
As to whether I actually need this information for my application to the bar, you are right that it is not a no-go if I do not get this. But when there is an application with a year of employment that is totally unconfirmable, then they start asking questions, and then they find out that I farted on a plane once, and then I can never be a lawyer. |
