It has grown! 2 weeks back was huge! Last tuesday was cool as well. See ya tuesday! It's becoming a success and the word is spreading. Lots of players, both pros and couch surfers, are coming in. It's cool to watch it happen!
Very Happy

Stompers is a basic rock-n-roll bar... It's a popular hangout and has a core group of regular customers on weekdays. Allot of local musicians call Stompers their home bar... It's a decent sized place with a pool table, golden tee machine and stage with music equipment. Sometimes if the band is hot the dance floor can get busy. They have a wide variety of live music on the weekends. Never a cover charge unless there is a special charity event or something but that is only a couple times a year. They pour a proper drink in there so be careful Wink A couple of their Teq-Mek specials (draft beer and shot of tequila) for 5000 won will set you straight. The bar is owned by a Canadian guy named Dwayne and his partner Alan is from the UK... The place has a very diverse crowd from teachers, military, newspaper and TV people, expats, local Koreans... It's a mixed bag for sure... They even have airline pilots and pro baseball players that show up regularly. The place is not fancy at all... It's not a bar for a first date. It's a bit gritty for sure. The location is gritty as well. It's on the top of hooker hill. Overall it's my favorite place to have a few drinks because the people that hangout there regularly are the best and the owners are very cool and genuine guys. It's probably the best live music scene in Itaewon.

Yeah, I agree. Dwayne and Alan are great dudes. My band played in the Battle of the Bands this month and they were super friendly, hooked us up with a lot of free beers and shots, and gave us a ton of compliments on our music. Stompers is kinda gritty, but the people are real nice and the music is the best in Itaewon.

5th January, anything going on? Can I turn up minus a guitar and borrow one to play a few songs?

It's new and fun! Last week was a great time with lots of good musicians jamming. Every Tusday @ Stompers Rock Spot in Iteawon. If you've never been to Stompers you owe it to yourself to check out the friendly scene. The music starts about 9:00 or so... It's very casual and everyone is welcome.

Directions... Go up the giant cement stairs next to Rocky Mountain Tavern on the east end of Itaewon's main street. Turn right at the top of the stairs and Stompers is just about 100 paces on your right.

Are there any cool plans for a New Year's Eve party? My wife and I would like to find something cool to do. It would be cool to actually have a conversation with someone where some weird strings or agendas aren't attached... just a good time is desired.

The house has an acousric guitar available for open mic nights... It's pretty decent.

New Years Eve should be a good night with live music... I'm not sure who he has booked to play.

Does anyone know the closest motel, and how to find it's phone number, and if the place itself has a phone number? Possibly? Who wants to help a foreigner during the holidays? Please?

The hotel that used to be called "Hilltop Hotel" is right next to Stompers in Itaewon. They'll likely have space. It's called "M" Motel, or something like that now. Can't miss the place. I imagine it's cheap. Two people have died in there in the past 4 years, though. One was the owner, who croaked and was found days later by his family. Another was rumored to be a filipina who died of alcohol poisoning, I think?
