Had that happen to me concerning Pohang. Left in 96 saying, "I'll never come back here again" (in terms of living/teaching) --- 5 years later got a sweet job offer so yup...I returned.

I lived in Masan for one year in '98.

It is safe to say I will NEVER live there again. Place is a pile of bullocks.

My friend said the exact same thing about Lombard, Illinois. Of course he ended up back there just a year later. Never say "I'm never coming back here again," I think it's a curse.

Lombard is not a great place. Better than Aurora though.

Yeah, Lombard is just like anywhere else in DuPage County, it is boring and it sucks. Strip malls as far as the eye can see. Lombard's only redeeming qualities to me were the Famous Liquor Store and the White Castle conveniently located across the street from each other.

Chicago itself is a fine city, but all the companies in my industry have their offices out in DuPage, and who wants to take 290 in the morning?

I liked San Francisco. Not as good as Sydney Australia, but getting very close. The central valley (San Joaquin) has a bad reputation. Fresno Bakersfield eg. Phoenix AZ didn't do it for me. Or Cedar City Utah.

Actually Lombard's not bad, I grew up about ten minutes from it.
