|
|
After spending a bunch of money on my parents' and grandparents' Christmas presents in Insa-dong, I'm looking for a cheaper alternative for my little brothers.
Last year I went with funny Engrish shirts from Dongdaemun, but this year I want to put together a couple packages of Korean candy/snacks that they can't get in America.
Some ideas so far:
Pocari Sweat
Crunky (pretty much the same as Crunch but much better name)
Shaker Fanta (has the jelly in it)
Kosomi (고소미) crackers
Crushed kim (it is great to eat plain or sprinkle on popcorn)
Bacchus (it's shitty but both my brothers are students who like energy drinks)
Those little cracker/chocolate mushroom boxes
Hi-Chews (I think the hangul is 마이쭈 though)
That kimchi and hot pepper chocolate or the chocolate from Jeju
Dried squid
I'm probably missing good ones. If you have any ideas I'd like to hear them. |

-Crunky Nude Balls
-Canned silkworm pupa
-the squid tentacles in a vacuum pack (like the dried squid)
-bacon chips
-those chicken dumstick shaped snacks that come in a box with a pissed-off looking chicken on it
-Shrimp chips
-Milkis (milk soda) |

Stay out of Malibu deadbeat.
Also, I'd suggest something with really stupid English on the packaging, which they could eat, or not, depending on their preference. Coffee stories about baseball and the like. Find some well-bing stuff. |

pocari sweat is awesome. way better than those "fruit juice" gatorades. |

One of my brothers really likes spicy stuff. Shin Ramyeon is my go-to spicy ramyeon, but is there a spicier?
Also, any other spicy snacks? |

I tried to ship home a packet of ramen with my christmas package this year and the fedex lady wouldn't do it because it was a beef product. Just warning. |
