You would probably have a much better chance of selling if you left the hdd and controller in there. There's a lot of fixer-upper guys out there who might try to take a shot at fixing it...but with no controller it can only be sold for parts. It's just a puny hdd anyways.
Also, your headline should read "broken" or "dead". |

I was able to get Microsoft to take back my Xbox and replace it without a receipt. Just had to argue with them on the phone for a while. Wasn't really that hard at all. Did you try to get them to replace it? |

I am sure that you found this online already....but XBOX support says that 4 flashing lights just means that you might need a new AV cable. Do you have a buddy with a system who could let you borrow their cable to do a test?
Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 are flashing red
- The AV cable cannot be detected

\ /
THINGS TO TRY
Make sure that the AV cable is correctly connected to the Xbox 360 console.
Disconnect the AV cable from the Xbox 360 console, and then reconnect the AV cable to the Xbox 360 console.
If the four flashing red lights continue to flash, try wiping the metal area of the AV pack with a dry cloth. The metal area is the end that plugs into the console. Wipe the metal area thoroughly, and then try the AV Pack again.
If the AV cable is correctly connected but the four red lights are still flashing, substitute a different AV cable if you have one available. |

Thats what I thought. And I did the same thing. But it would not work.
I just got tired of it. I am going to buy a ps3 anyway.
75,000 and still up for grabs. |
