Recently swapped in my American DL for a Korean DL but am planning a trip to Europe and will need an International DL.
Any clue as to how I'm supposed to get this done? |

Do you have a photocopy of the license you turned in? You'll need that along with a money order, photos, and application.

| You can just use your Korean DL. I recently got my Korean DL and got an International Permit good for one year at the same time. Took 5 minutes. |

I went through the whole process at the DMV near World Cup Stadium in Seoul.
On the last day while I was doing the road test, my wife paid for all the stamps needed; when I finsihed, we got everything. I grabbed my license and walked over to the International Permit desk and they gave me an International Permit a couple of minutes later. |

I heard AAA is good but it is for Americans. Plus, you need an American DL to get it. This won't help nosmallplans, unless he/she still has a valid American DL.

Australians' can go through the Australian Automobile Association: http://www.aaa.asn.au/touring/idp.htm.
Could someone post information on how South Africans may obtain an international driver's license? |

Important to note that E-2 visa holders can only obtain an IDP to use with their Korean license if they have resided in Korea for three years. |

You will need to visit the DMV where you changed your DL with your ticket and try to get a Korean IDP, if they wont give you one (due to time here), have them return your US DL (that's why you need the ticket). You can keep your Korean licence when they return your US one.
You will then need to get a US IDP by mail. |

Ex girlfriend has a car.
Current girlfriend has a motorcycle and a car.
Want to purchase a motorcycle soon.
Occasionally rent a car for long weekend getaways. |
