Bassexpander or others in the know about boilers.

I have a rinnai boiler of the newish kind. I came home to the flashing amber light and I know this means the boiler needs bleeding and refilling.
Last yr my administrator showed me how to do it, (or so I thought) but I cant get the damn thing to refill.

Plse look at the pic to help my explanation

Here's what I've done so far:
1. turned the little knob on far top left and drained out the water the gunk until it ran dry (about 20 secs)
2. black round knob is filter, pulled out and cleaned
ok so far
3.Now to refill - the middle set of pipes with the white knob and above a brass knob. The guy told me to turn the brass one until water comes out of the white funnel. Well the thing is, neither of these actually move. I'e turned pulled pushed and nothing. SO now I dont know what to do! NO hot water and pretty soon a cold room.

I am right so far plse tell me, left to drain, middle to refill and dont touch the yellow pipe as this is the gas? I cant see any other mechanism that could refill it.

There are no water values or taps anywhere. The bluse pipes go down into the floor and there are no shut offs in the apartment or outside that could possibly be connected.

Please help.

Sorry, but your pics are too small, and one is too blurry to see much.

I thought the white knob was the filter? Anyway, I could be wrong.

The water fill lever might actually be inside of the box. My friend's newer Rinnai was that way. You might have to open the box to find the fill valve, and it might not be a round valve -- it might actually be a metal rod bent at an angle.

Try removing the screws around the edges of the box to open it up and look inside. I'll bet you find the refill valve in there.

Just a guess, but if the guy told you to turn the knob, then you should probably turn the knob. As BE mentioned, I can't see what it looks like, but try really hard. Chris seems to think you're a woman, so no offense, but you might just not be using enough force.

Then again, that might just break it - again, I can't see what you're working with.

She might have seen it bled, but not filled.

I'm just telling you what was done with my friend's new Rinnai boiler.

Until I get a better look at it, I'm just guessing anyway.

Does the landlord live in the same building? Just knock on their door and say something simple like, "Boiler Moon-jae Eee-soy-yo."

They'll get it, and probably come help you. It takes all but 2 minutes to fix.

Lol Chris you are so right I am a feable woman!

I managed to get help from the neighbour and I did have it all right but as was suggested I just wasn't using enough force. In my defence, it took the guy a bit of sweating, my administrator must've really turned it back tight.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Something about boilers freak me out.
