Yea, I can't think of any major complaints except for this. The one button left/right clicker deal with no divider is an absolute dog. |

The screen brightness is exceptional though, I compared it side by side with the n10 and it kicks its arse, allthough the wind screen does have a slightly sparkly look to the lcd, the viewing angles and brightness are superb. Let's face it, a sparkly screen is always good for Korea. |

Mine came with a 6 cell. Though it's not much use as it never leaves my house. The only time it ever comes off the cord is when I surf Dave's on the crapper. |

Yeah that's the thing. Some people don't need long battery life, so a 3 cell is fine.
That bad points about mine are it's sleek and sexy (I'm a functional kind of guy to a degree) and it's supposed to be noisy, (it's been super quiet so far)
Screen brightness is fine. I have it set to 2 or 3 from the bottom most of the time.
Some of the netbooks have butt ugly 6 cell batteries like stick out that dog's bollocks.
On the Korean auction site the MSI netbooks have the best ram upgrade option for a limited time maybe. 10000 from 1-2GB. It cost me 60000+ for the Asus.

Mine has the dog's bollocks. A slim 3 cell would probably have been just fine, though it does prop it up at a nice angle when it's sitting on a flat surface. I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB for about 25,000 and this was over a year ago, so I was pretty stoked with that deal. |

I don't see the point of a netbook unless you need to compute while walking around an awful lot.
Maybe some people in some kind of job need that kind of portability.
I'd rather have a lightweight 15'' laptop with an optical drive and 3 times more power than a typical netbook.
Unless your daily routine entails needing a computer and having to walk a lot, netbooks seem pretty useless. |

How hard is it to understand? You don't need a quad core i9 processor with 8 gig of Ram to surf the net and write a word doc. A PC from 2002 can do that just fine. Netbooks fill a sizeable niche. I think their wild popularity is testament to this.
Why do you find this so threatening? I'm not trying to get into a mac vs PC shitfight over this. You cans still have your state of the art hog. Most people don't require that, though. I'm just saying that the stats in market netbook speak for themselves. |

| I like my netbook. I take it to Starbucks and check my e-mail while drinking a mocha or reading a book. It is so tiny that I can take it anywhere. I certainly wouldn't use it for much more than writing e-mails, but for that it's fantastic! |

You're making absolutely no sense. I'm not threatened by netbooks....how could I be?!!! They're useless to me and most people. I have no stance on netbook ownership. If you like them, then go for it......it's just, as a techie, I see them for what they are. All the good computing tech out there today is missing from netbooks. They're too small. A 15'' laptop can provide 3 times the power and a nice big screen and an optical drive. I just think that's better.

This is basically my point, 90% of computer users aren't techies. A large number of people just want something they can prop up on their knee while they are watching TV. Most people who own net books probably have a desktop or full sized laptop stashed away some where anyway.
I think the net books popularity is a testament to its usability.

I picked one up, seemed a good price. First thing I did is install windows 7.
10 minutes to download,
2 minutes to extract,
10 minutes to make a bootable usb
and 30 minutes to install win7
I have installed office 2007 and I have to say it runs quick. Start up is fast, programs open fast music and video plays fine (haven't tried 720p yet tho) |
