|
|
Hi!
Though I am not a Kiwi, I did study at a college in NZ for a year. I'm wondering if any Kiwis had any trouble submitting their academic transcripts, as the Korean consulate is quite explicit that all transcripts be sealed in an envelope with a stamp/sticker.
FYI, NZ transcripts are printed on stiff stationary which are then mailed in an envelope (as opposed to US transcripts, which are sealed individually in envelopes, and then everything's shipped off in one envelope).
I didn't open the envelope with the transcripts in them (well, I did peak in a corner, but stopped opening the envelope because I remembered how NZ transcripts looked).
I've Googled both the Internet and Dave's (http://www.google.com/cse/home?cx=006359271486458796786:zldpir6y9yy) looking for info on NZ transcripts, but couldn't find anything helpful.
Anyway, I'm mailing my unopened NZ transcripts with the rest of my visa stuff tonight, and I'm kind of expecting trouble because it doesn't have that all important sticker. So, in case I have to do this again, I was curious what Kiwis did when they applied for their visas. =)
Thank you! |

Hi,
I remember requesting my transcript, and putting a note saying I required it for Korea. My university signed, dated and stamped the opening end of the envelope and then cellotaped over that (they did this for each copy of the transcript). I had no problems with the visa application.
I think your application will be fine, you must have studied most of your degree at home, so that transcript will probably be more important.
Hope this helps,

| I went to Victoria Uni. I asked a staff at the faculty to specifically seal my transcript. When it arrived, it was enclosed in an individual envelope but had no stamp on it. So I rang them up and they sent my transcripts again free of charge with proper seal (stamp, signiture, cellotape over the whole thing). |

Kiwis are nocturnal, as you probably know already. We're kinda hard to see |

| Mine took just over a week to order and receive from outside the country. They are all packed into an envelope and signed and sealed. No problems here. |

Thanks for the responses! Alas, but I did not realize you have to specify that transcripts be sealed; officially ordered transcripts only come that way in the States!
Welllll it seems that I'm out of luck...I held off on sending my things, and tried to re-order the transcripts (with one set being sent straight to Korea) but! It's the holidays! So Massey's closed until the 5th. I think this means I've lost the job I was applying for but oh well, c'est la vie.
I saw there was an Otago man on here... In 2007, I met a ton of amazingly awesome Otago people while I was on the Kepler Track, who convinced me to go with them back to Dunedin for some fun. Gosh NZ in general is pretty frickin amazing -- can't wait to go back!! |
