I thought these would be really easy to find. But, I can't find them in the shoe department of stores. I also tried one of those cobblers that sets up in on of those big metal boxes on the sidewalk. No luck.

Anyone know where I can find some?

They have them at the athletic kind of shoe stores (ie ABC Mart etc.). 1000 won usually.

Can I get brown ones for more formal shoes (like the tube-shaped laces. not flat athletic ones)?

I'm not too sure, I've never looked for those. Somewhere like the big ABC Mart in Myeong-dong would probably have more of a selection as they sell lots of formal shoes as well as runners etc. I'm sure they're somewhere at Dongdaemun, but wandering around there can take a long time if you don't know where to look....

When I first came here I had the same problem. So I asked a co worker. I was told that in Korea there is no need to buy shoelaces because Korean shoelaces are superior and do not wear out.

Go to a shoeshine booth. They have replacement shoelaces but some have more and better ones than others.

You might be able to find more at a hotel shoeshine.

Thanks everyone, I was finally able to find some. I went to another shoe repair booth (there's like 3 in my neighborhood). Perhaps it was because of the help from another guy waiting in there who spoke English, but I got them replaced. Even laced em up for me. 2,000 won for the pair.

I had the same problem. You can get shoelaces in Itaewon. I think it was at the Nike store that I got'em. I'm talking about for sneakers...OK?

I'm pretty sure it was Nike....anyway, one of those name-brand stores in Itaewon. It's down about halfway between Coffee Been and the end of the block up town American Diner.

I'm pretty sure it was Nike. They're real easy about gettin'em in there.

I got a good pair of brown tubular laces and one blue shoelace, if you're interested, pm me.

I stopped wearing footwear with laces years ago, but I noticed that there are plenty of shoelaces at the ABC shoe store.
