I'm going to be leaving in a few months and I have a question about the pension refund.
I'm going to be traveling to Australia (I'm Canadian) on a return ticket back to Korea. Will I have a problem with getting my pension refund because of the return ticket. I plan on coming back to Korea as a tourist.
I called the pension office, and after being bounced around to find an English speaker, they told me (kind of unconvincingly) that it wouldn't be a problem. I just want to double check here if anyone has done it.

Thanks

I just spoke with them last week. The translator I spoke with said on your way out bring your foreign account #, passport and arc. I asked if I could have it deposited into my account here. He said no. Last time I went home i filed and it hit my bank in about a month. They have a couple of million from a former school. Is there any way I can get it without leaving? Any help appreciated but a old. long, timer especially appreciated. Thanks in advance. I could use the cash!! By the way their # is 031-229-4029 Merry X-mas!!
Very Happy

I've been told by pension officials that you can get it deposited into your account in Korea. But you know how it is here...you ask two government officials the same question and you'll often get totally opposite answers. I think they just say whatever they feel like saying, so you never know what the truth is. Very frustrating.
