| Just how binding are these? I signed one, it basically had my contract dates and salary, about two weeks ago. Am still waiting for my contract, and am a bit miffed that I haven't gotten it. IN the meantime, I've had two more job offers. Am I stuck? |

Did you submit paperwork for the visa?
As long as your visa (E2) is not official or in the process of becoming official you have more options to opt out.
However, to be fair with your new soon to be employer, if you intend to back out do it as soon as possible because they are probably planning their school woak load with you on the roster. Tossing out at the last second is a bad way to do things.... |

| NOpe, no paperwork. Don't even have the contract. Though after thinking about it, I think that I'll just stick it out though. |

Maybe send an e-mail politely reminding them you are still waiting for the contract etc?
Koreans aren't known for there forward planning. Leaving everything till the last minute is common.

| I can't think of any country in which good faith agreements would be better honoured. |

| i would just give them a deadline. two weeks seems too long. be polite, but firm. explain you are not sure what is going on and have other jobs waiting. i would make it a short deadline, like 4 days. that is reasonable. |

Yep, me too. You can certainly take a Korean for their word. It is important for them to be viewed as honest in other countries around the world.
Seriously, if you don't hear back in a week go for something else. It's their own fault for not getting their act together. |

In that case, I'd start looking at other options.
Tis their loss for not keeping you in the loop!

naturegirl,
What is your planned start date at the school?
The school may be considering this with the time they allow to process your employment papers.... |
