Don't eat dog in Korea!

It's common knowledge that they torture the dog to death, under the belief that the adrenal rush from the fear and pain that the dog experiences makes the meat more tender. So they go out of their way to ensure that the dog sufferes a long and painful death.

Don't believe it? Watch the videos for yourself.

They eat dogs and cats, so what? People only care about it because they feel that dogs have personalities or something, and cats are cute and fluffy, and whatever. It's not like in America we don't treat cows and pigs and chickens horribly too, but 99% people are more than willing to turn a blind eye to it just because they don't feel like those animals have any intrinsic companionship value. Personally I have no qualms with putting fido on a plate, considering how we don't seem to mind doing it to bessie, snouts or foghorn leghorn. You think that animals in any other part of the world are treated better?

To put it in the words of a dead-on South Park episode that I hope someone will get the reference: "Good job son. Now they're normal. Like us".

One more note: Anyone who gets pissed off at these videos had better be a vegetarian or vegan, otherwise you're just a complete hypocrite.

Thats simply not true, where in America/Europe will you find people hanging cows from trees and hitting them with bats before eating them?

The thing that gets me is the way they are killed. If they want to eat cat and dog, thats fine, i'd even try it if i knew it was killed in a humane way. Whats not fine is putting the animal through excruciating pain and dragging out its death in a belief that it produces better meat.

The torture thing is the exception and not the rule. Most Koreans in the restaurant business I've talked to about this say that most people are too lazy and/or realize it makes no difference. A majority of the dogs that are consumed aren't hung or beaten, just slaughtered like any other animal. Again, these kinds of things are found anywhere, America included. But I don't see anyone here making posts about America's sickening pig farming industry and watching the workers kick the pigs in the face, spit on them and literally dance on their bodies.

But hey, they're just pigs, not cute and cuddly dogs, right?

I agree. The system in the US is bad as well. No doubt. However, that is not the subject. Stay on the subject, please.

Well, to be honest, i dont know the facts, and from what i've seen, i wouldnt eat dog on the chance that it could have been tortured. As i said, im not against eating dog, at the end of the day its just another animal and if i knew it was killed quickly by one of those stun guns or its throat slit i would have no problems eating it.

Living conditions are another thing entirely.

Well, the subject is how we supposedly shouldn't eat dog meat in Korea. But I think bringing up foreign practices is valid because it raises the issue as to why we are being asked to muster up outrage about this one specific carnivorial habit, when it's really no different from any other.

America labels any dog that doesn't have a human owner as a stray and kills it. Saw a similar theme in the 1968 movie" Planet of the Apes". These Hypocrites label Koreans as barberic because they actually eat them.

Lets sent all our strays to North Korea where at least they will be eaten.
