|
|
I have been enjoying the 'Songs That You Despise' thread, not only to see my choices agreed upon, but also to wonder and chuckle at the songs that others loathe, but I rather like.
For example, "We Built This City"....I like it!
"Baba O'Reilly" LOVE it!
And I adore the ENTIRE Queen catalogue. Well, not 'Flash', obviously.
Others?
I go running to bad techno and trance music.
I love 'Piano Man'
I will often sing along, with vigour and an unpretentious lack of talent, to Celine Dion.
I have a shamefully huge collection of Broadway and Old Hollywood musical soundtracks.
Come on! Share your secret songs! |

| I've always had a bit of a thing for Kylie Minogue. I've always loved Some Kind of Bliss. That could just stem from my deep love of the Manics. |

Most of the songs on the K-tel label including "That's the Way I like it"
KC and the Sunshine Band, Hot Chocolate- You Sexy Thing, Love Rollercoaster,
Anything from the Saturday Night Fever LP . I Especially like to strut down the street in Bellbottoms while Jive talking is playing with my hair freshly feathered and smelling of Final net and flipped back with a touch of the curling iron while my polyester shirt collars flop in the wind.
Anything by the Bay City Rollers. I think Johnny Rotten copied them with the spiked hair and the tartan. All Malcolm Maclaren and Vivian Westwood did was grab a pair of Bay City Rollers paints and put multiple zippers in them. |

Growing up on a steady diet of Death Metal, moving onto the Grunge, House and Shoegazer scenes, then onto Trance , Experimental and Post-Rock, I blame the following on my mother who used to play this artist while doing the housework.

My naughty 5 year old has taken to softly singing:
"One little two little three little B@$#@%ds
four little five little six little B@$#@%ds..."
when he thinks I am out of earshot. I think it's such an improvement on the original that I pretend not to have overheard him.." |
