Or South Park was just jumping on the trend.
ANYWAY, I see this as a bittersweet thing. The company has the right to sell whatever they want, as long as it's legal, and as far as I know, freedom of speech is not just an American thing? Brits, am I mistaken in this? Have the forces of Evil completely overrun your Kingdom yet?At the same time, the consumer has the right to complain and pressure the company to stop what it's doing.
I just think it's a shame that the company caved to a single woman and her demands. Unless there was a lynch mob at the gate, they should have keep on selling. |

This would be funny, but I think some people were genuinely offended, so I have to say it's a bit sad (but still kind of funny)

LONDON (Reuters) Britain's biggest retailer Tesco apologised on Tuesday after complaints that a Christmas card it sold was offensive to people with ginger hair.
The card in question shows a child with red hair sitting on the lap of Santa Claus under the banner: "Santa loves all kids. Even ginger ones."
Davinia Phillips, whose three children all have red hair, was enraged when she saw the card at one of Tesco's stores in northern England.
"It's discrimination, pure and simple. I have shown it to a lot of friends and they are all disgusted by it," she was quoted by newspapers as saying.
"I just don't find it funny at all. If it had been about a black child or an overweight child the store would have been shut down by now."
Tesco said the offending card had now been withdrawn from all its stores.
"It is never our intention to offend any customer and we are sorry if this card caused any upset," a spokeswoman said. |

I think its hilarious, i'd still find it hilarious if it said "even fat ones". |

I assumed ginger was referring to gingerbread as in gingerbread cookies. You know, those ginger cookies shaped like people. People see what they want to see, like the Virgin Mary in a tortilla or something. People need to get a life. |
