I was taking subway yesterday, and this ad on the top of the door caught my eyes:

Call 1688-4949, you can make international calls for free ( But they charge domestic call fee)

After you dial 1688-4949, you hear a Korean woman, ignore her and dial the number you want to call plus "#", then you can talk to your family now~!!!

ex. 1688-4949 + 86(country code)+7318549**** + # = Panda's happy happy home.

Here is the website: http://www.1688-4949.com

I tried, it works excellent~!!! (but calls can only be made to these 21 countries )

Interesting. Do you have to call the country code first?

Like for Canada, is it:

1688-4949

1 (country code)

705 (area code)

xxx-xxxx (actual phone number)

#

Like that?

For those getting an iphone or ipod touch you can get skype on it as well.

Find a wifi spot, or carry a Wibro wimax wireless router to create a mobile hot spot and you can use skype anywhere.
