|
|
A few days ago we sent Christmas packages to my parents in Canada and my in-laws' parents in the US. I got a text message telling me when both packages left Incheon airport, and this morning I got another text: 고객님 EMS########은 배달시도 했으나 미배달, 수취인 수령대기
Seems to mean they tried to deliver it (to the in-laws, they said Canada would take a bit longer) but there was no one to sign for the parcel. I'm worried now though because I learned my in-laws are on vacation in another state and probably won't be back till early in the new year. I didn't realize this required delivery confirmation. Do I need to communicate something to the post office? How long will they try to deliver it?
I'm really impressed the parcel got there so fast (3 days!), when my Christmas parcel from Canada sent to me over a month ago is no where to be found. |

Contact the company-
http://www.koreapost.go.kr/eng/service/service02_06.jsp
There is a phone number and also a location of the head office on there. I know for a fact that at least some of the people there speak English very well so don't worry about that..
Give them a call tomorrow and I'm sure it will be all sorted out. Korean Post (or any Korean companies) don't mess about and there will be no b.....t!!!!
The title suggests it was the Korean Postal Service fault which is not at all true of course.
I have found sending post from Korea is always super quick, cheap and first class. Of course you gave the example the parcel being sent form Canada to compare..
Anyway it will all be sorted out soon...
No panic,

| Oh, I didn't mean "failed" as in their failure, just in the sense that the parcel couldn't be delivered. Thanks for the link! |

| Right. Parcels sent to me from Canada take an average of 6 to 7 weeks. Horrible I know. And a fail to deliver usually means they will try again or at least leave a message of attempted delivery at your parents place. |

| Yeah, right? I mean, now that it's in the US it's in the hands of the US postal system, correct? And since it's already been through customs they're not going to send it back here or anything, right? |
