| Hello, my school says im required to do an additional health check before December 31st. This has nothing to do with the E-2 visa requirement, I have been at the same public school for over a year now. I asked my coteachers what its about but none of them can give me a striaght answer. Is anyone in the same boat? |

It's probably the medical check that all the Korean teachers have to take. I did mine at the start of December. It's kind of fun because you can get out of school for half the day ("The clinic was really busy......" ) and you can find out what your cholesterol and liver function and all that stuff is. They won't test for drugs or HIV or any of that stuff. |

This sounds like the health check up required under the National Health Insurance. It used to be required every few years and was done on a rotating basis using the Korean alpahbet to determine who got a physical in any given year. This year they began requiring annual physicals - I'm not sure if age is a factor. I've been told that everyone will have to get one every year. Every teacher, and every Korean employee, at our hogwan is required to get one. |

| It's ahealth insurance thing. You'd think they'd use the health check you got a few months ago, but then again you'd think immigration could save all our info...lol. |

| Had the same thing in Jeonju. They told me it was an extra one, required every two years. It consumed an hour or so and cost me nothing. |
