I hope this thread will not be deleted.

I arrived in Saudi on November 11th. I have done no work at all since then, all on full pay.

I've browsed the job forum and it seems Korea is getting more hardline.

I have now been accepted by a university in Medina. I've moved from Jeddah.

The weather here is nice and warm. Unlike Korea, there seems to be no urgency whatsoever to work you as hard as possible as soon as you arrive.

I have never had a job ever before where I have been paid in full for over 6 weeks to do absolutely nothing at all. I love it. Laughing

It's nice and quiet. No loud drunks, no fear of being attacked/murdered, no asbos etc. Laughing

There's one non-Muslim guy from America. He is actually quite pleasant, I don't think he'd like you calling him disgusting though. Very Happy

I thought non-Muslims were not allowed in Mecca and Madinah.

They are allowed in certain areas of Madinah. The Holy Sites are off limits to them. There is also a non-Muslim woman teaching female students here. She's Canadian.

No loud drunks? That just shows you're not with the "in crowd" such as the ruling elite who have plenty of booze.

No fear of being attacked? That's true to the extent that you're not female and not one of the foreign maids there. Oh, you've obviously forgotten about that horrendous blight on Saudi society, the religious police.

No fear of being murdered? Really, now? Did you forget already about the executions there of murderers? I guess the Saudi government just made up those charges, huh?

Asbo? Wow, so you're still clinging to a derogatory term for a fellow human being. What's the Qur'an have to say about that, by the way?

Care to explain why your description of Medina's entry rules differs from that of the government? Hm, maybe this is just another of the Saudi government's mistakes like executing murderers when there's no murder in the country!

The other thread was apparently deleted after you let your bigotry get totally out of hand. This one is obviously headed for the same fate.

I don't know why the last thread was deleted, nobody told me off for anything though.

Alcohol is not openly consumed here, if you're in with the ruling elite then good for you.

I mean nobody is attacked as in central California, where you may have the pleasure of being murdered for just minding your own business. How 'civilized'.

So you think murderers should be loved and hugged instead? If you can focus you'll see I referred to the lack of murder here, not the punishment for murderers.

I meant there are no Jeffrey Dahmers here. Asbo refers to anti social behaviour orders which are given to anti-social individuals in Britain, I commented that here we live in peace and security, no rowdy drunken criminals frequent the streets at night in Saudi.

Asbo is not exactly an insult.

I think your difficulty is you know you're the bigot but cannot accept it. Open your 'civilized, enlightened mind' and smell the coffee.

(I suppose making people sit on the back of the bus just because they have dark skin is another sign of progress. Another western achievement).

You got the last thread deleted by spouting your radical and incessant views about about how muslims had won the war and the coalition forces was full of sissy boy soldiers etc etc.

I would imagine your vast amounts of hypocrisy didnt help either which you have started to do again in this thread mentioning the bus thing in western civilisation, whilst in the same breath mentioning non-arabic people cant visit certain areas of the arabic countries.

Nobody has told me directly that I was the reason for the post being deleted.

You believe in free speech? Yeah, right!

Why are you so ashamed of your history, if you're so enlightened, the history of slavery is reasonable to mention, especially when people like Cali try to put down Saudi first.

I suppose scotty as an esteemed intellectual you knew in Saudi, non-Muslims are not allowed to visit various places, it has nothing to do with being Arab/non-Arab, it has to do with being Muslim/non-Muslim.

Oh please excuse me, you didn't know that at all, because you're very educated and cultured aren't you? Duh!

I'm not even Arab, but because I'm Muslim I can visit all areas of Saudi.
It has nothing to do with ethnicity, any white guy can visit all of Saudi, if they are Muslim. It has nothing to do with colour.

I suppose this is the calibre of teacher South Korea accepts nowadays. It's a pity, it was so much better when I was there. Laughing

Interesting that you bring slavery in to the equation when slavery originates in the middle east. Although more interesting because slavery still continues in Saudi and the middle east. Is that a sign of middle eastern achievement that the middle east has managed to continue such a trade for longer than any other civilization, race, etc?

What part of free speech dont i believe in? I didn't delete the thread...
and i am ashamed of the slave trade that happened (im from England btw). Im not saying it should be brushed under the carpet either, but that doesnt change the fact that you was hypocritical.

I didnt know whether you had to be Arabic or simply Muslim to access the "restricted" areas, no. I've never bothered to do the research, I have no intention of visiting, nor do i care what goes on there, I choose to spend my time learning about things that are of interest to me.
I simply put "arab" because i didn't know, i know now, and thanks for pointing it out (i guess) even if you did it in a condescending and childish manner Rolling Eyes

It's been said before, but I'll say it again. This website is owned by a private individual and does not fall under free speech laws.

He can decide what kind of restrictions he wants on people who post here (see the TOS).

If you want free speech, you'd be best to find an unmoderated website.
