Most of the shows from the U.S. which have been mentioned are quite good, though I did not see Law and Order in any posts; been a huge fan for some time now.
Started watching Dollhouse and am finding it interesting.
Some good UK shows that I have seen, or am watching:
-Life on Mars (The U.S. version wasn't bad, except for the final scene.)
-Ashes to Ashes
-Misfits
-Paradox
-The Fixer
-QI
-Dr. Who
-State of Play
-Little Britain
-Hustle
-Spooks
If you decide to watch the first 2 on the list, watch Life on Mars and then Ashes to Ashes.

British sit-com, pretty smart answer to Sex in the City |

| Can't believe no one has suggested The Office. I prefer the US version but if you're from the UK or Europe then the UK version is probably better for you. The first couple seasons of NCIS are pretty good too., |
I guess the cultural differences are larger than expected. I couldn't find anything funny from the US version but I'm falling of my chair laughing in the British one so I assumed the US version was a total flop. For other British comedy shows I like:
Little Britain
That Mitchell and Webber Look.
They are more like sketch shows than series though. |

| Just finished the last episode of the Shield last night. The last episode could well be one of the the greatest, most heart rending finale in television history. |

I remember thinking the same thing about the series finale of Six Feet Under. I really liked how they wrapped that series up! |

I never finished that show. I watched it when it was on TV up till about the the 3rd season. Might give it another look.
Another good show, that probably belongs in the hidden gems thread, is "Huff". Another one of those shows that got canceled. The lead is Hank Azaria. Better know as Chief Wiggum And Moe from the Simpsons. |

I liked Huff a lot the first season, but quickly lost interest at the beginning of season two. Maybe I'll give that another look too. |

| I've decided to watch The Sopranos again. Along with The Wire, TV has never been so good, and I think it will be a long time before anything matches these shows. |

Agreed. You watch those two shows and think how can tv possibly get any better. |
