In Korea "fishing" refers to picking up/hooking up with girls. I'm sure your savior would look down on that. Premarital sex is a sin after all.

Shame on you.

I think that you are referring to hunting, not fishing.

With regards to proper fishing...i.e. placing a worm on a hook and waiting for a fish to bite it...I wouldn't recommend that you eat anything you catch here.

Koreans are fishing mad.
During winter any decent sized reservoirs are teaming with ice fishers.
They are stocked with aqua-farmed fish so there are always plenty of bites.

edit: OK I lied, there aren't any of bites.
Ice fishing is about drinking soju and get away from one's spouse.

Speaking of fishing,

I tried ice fishing (bingah) again with no luck. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but didn't catch crap last winter and again today. What gives?

I chisel a hole in the ice, got my little fly-swatter-rod with 8 little hooks on the line with little larvae for bait. I even toss some granulated fish food down the hole to entice the little buggers but still no luck. Oh well, no biggie as I enjoy just the chance to sit outside for several hours with nature, breath in deep the fresh winter air and freeze my butt off.

Oh yeah, are toes supposed to turn black like they are now?

James Card has left Korea but Mr. Cho still has his shop near Sinyongsan.

The Nerimcheon and the Dongnamcheon are good rivers to fish.

There is another fly fishing shop near Olympic Park/Bangi Station.
