I was talking to a young white woman last night. She claimed that white men seem to have permanent "beer goggles" on when it comes to Asian women. Here's a couple of examples she cited:

Certainly many of the men on this site seem to have an active distain for western women. Many also think that their Asian girlfriends/wives are "smoking hot" which is awesome for them, but is it realistic? Do you believe my white female friend is right?

I was not into Asian girls until I came to Korea. After awhile your tastes can change, now I am happy to see so many beautiful women everywhere I look, be they Asian or any other race.

So what is the rational for Korean men liking white women? I see some couples together but the white women are overweight and not attractive (in my eyes) at all.

Each person has their own desires and what constitutes attractive. Who really cares if a person prefers a certain look or character trait?

When I asked my girlfriend (Korean) out, the 1st thing she asked me was "is it because I'm Korean?" Lots of Korean girls think white guys come here with their sights set on snagging a Korean girlfriend. I didn't

She is also the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow, who was Woody Allen's long term partner at the time. He was cheating on Mia with her own daughter.

I am not normally against age differences, whatever works for you etc. but this was rather disgusting, I thought.

Personality was the factor for me. I went on dates with a few girls from Asia over the past few years in canada before I met my gf and they went absolutely nowhere. Seeing that most of my dating/relationship experience comes from Canada and Europe I tend to prefer dating there. HOwever, my current gf just has an awesome personality that I completely click with. I think that is the kicker for most of the guys here is that they meet their soulmate. She may not be one of those cookie cutter knockouts you see on tv but in their eyes their "average" gf/wife to be is actually better. I know that is certainly the case for me. Some of the ugliest women I've met here in the ROK were the kinds of women that Most men do anything for. PLastic surgery cookie cutter trophy look that every guy seems to want these days. Their personalities were also insanely arrogant, materialistic, aggressive, and utterly boring. Did I say boring? SHopping, gossiping in coffee shops, drinking, sleeping and looking in the mirror. *shudder*


I also hate that "are you just the kind of guy that came to Korea to get with Korean women." schtick.

I went on one date with a Korean girl in Canada who came across with a similar asinine question and I fired back asking her "if she was just another typical Korean girl that had anger management issues with Korean men and therefore exclusively dated foreign men to piss off Daddy and the general patriarchy. Because I don't want to date someone with anger issues like that. Or are you another Korean girl just looking for a fling in Canada to improve your English so you can eventually go back to your Korean boyfriend(s) that you deny having."

I came across jokingly, but she got a bit offended. Dished it but couldn't take it.

Needless to say that date went nowhere.

Granted, I think some guys come here to score. Some Korean women are also the above as well. It goes both ways.

I do find Asian women to be generally more attractive than their Western (i.e. Caucasian) counterparts.

Hell even when I was back in Canada last spring, I automatically focused on the Asian girls at the bar.


Is it a fetish I have? Perhaps.....it's just that the long black hair, dark eyes, slim bodies (some of these girls have amazing touches - but the boobs not so much), and overall sense of style (i.e. hight heels and skirts) gets my blood flowing.


The only women that can somewhat couter East Asian girls and South American ones.
