| Anyone finishing up their contract and hitting the road for 2010? Or taking a short holiday somewhere for a week or two? What's the plan? |

| Contract finished, bags packed. Flying out to Bangkok on Thursday. Going to do the tourist trail bit around SE asia, a bit of jungle in Sumatra, then fly to India for a while. Then it's back to the US of A, and driving from the East Coast to Alaska. Alaska by June. |

| still got 9 months of the contract to go, but off to japan for 21 days of snowboarding (i hope) bliss. 5-7 days in nagano (hakuba, nozawa and myoko), few days around tokyo/hamamatsu, 4 or so days in zao, then a final week on niseko. Should be pretty awesome. |

I've just returned from two weeks in Niseko. Great place, plenty of snow - we had 2 metres in the first weekend. |

Great. I was living in Sumatra for around 7 months.
Anyway, I'm heading to Paris, Geneva, Den Haag, Rome, and Brussel this year. Around March. Sounds interesting for me. |

| Well I just got back from Brisbane, Australia and next month I'm going to Chicago for a quick visit. Followed by Sydney, then Rome, the Greek Isles, and Turkey. Finally, I'll head to Chicago in July and live in Arizona from July until the following March. Plus I'm sure I'll have some random trips to Vietnam & Bangkok. |

| After a decade in Asia, I am heading back to the United States... Texas of all places. I am not from there but that's where the next adventure will unfold. |

| Hey Pamungkash...any advice on Sumatra? I'm thinking of traveling there this year myself. Haven't begun any research yet but would like to go to Bukittinggi. I'm interested in the Minangkabau. Any other must see places? |

I didn't expect to go to Guam, Thailand, China and Canada in 2009 and yet I did (48 days abroad in all where I thought I'd be taking 15-18 days for travel) so I suspect my plans for 2010 will likewise be met with changes and last minute surprises.
The Philippines is on my radar for next autumn and Vietnam or Tokyo for this coming summer with some Southeast Asian jaunts starting in Bangkok likely in the spring, depending on the number of days I'll have available. |

Some good trips!
I'm finishing up my contract at the end of Feb. Going to SE Asia for a month with the gf before heading to the U.S. and Mexico.
Then, she's flying back here to Korea and I'm heading to Europe for two weeks before flying to Kenya to start a 58 day overland trip to South Africa.
Going to be gone for about six months or so in total, then coming back to Korea in late August/ early September. Should be a good year. |

| Spring vacation will be spent in Nagoya and surrounding areas doing some skiing and a temple stay. In March I will move to Taiwan. Hopefully before Christmas I will have seen most of the good sites there esp the east coast. September will be HK and Macau for a week and in October there will be a week in Kyushu and hopefully a side trip to Hiroshima. Christmas could be in NZ. |
