|
|
Hello, I hope all had a good new year!
If you have a B.Sc., M.Sc. in an unrelated (non english or language oriented) field and teaching experience, where abouts do you rank in the payscale, or what is a fair salary from a hagwon?
I have taught Chemistry and general science but not english.
Thanks all! |

Tell us about your relevant experiences then.
How many years teaching (in English) in an accredited school?
Do you have TESOL/CELTA equivalent certification? |

I have taught chemistry and science in a high school for 1 year. I am just finishing my masters degree. I do not have a TESOL or other certificate like it. |

You can expect 2.2 mil/month for Masters or Teacher Certification, in Public Schools.
Hagwons vary, and if you can find a job utilizing your special skills i.e. teaching science and math in English, then it can go much higher. |

I'm assuming you've got a teaching license. Hit up one of the international schools. That year of experience will be helpful - not sure if it's enough, but it's better than nothing. |

You can check out The Princeton Review cram schools - you can definitely teach in your subject areas there and in English and I'm pretty sure you'll make more than at the average hagwon (don't quote me on this).
They've got two prime locations - one in Samseong that is right across from Coex mall, and one in Apgujeong - I'm sure the names of the areas mean nothing to you right now, but they're decent (albeit, expensive) places to be. |

Do you know where I could find information on the Princeton review schools... i.e. applications or requirements |

Job posting isn't THAT old...but student vacation times tend to be when "intensives" are going on, and they may have already hired everyone they need for the next couple of months.
There's a contact at the bottom you can get in touch with.
I don't know anything about hagwons, so I don't want to say too much. Get a hold of them and ask. |
