okay
got what may or may not be a serious problem and need some help. My flight to Korea is in 2 days. I was sent a blue form from my boss and thought this was it to get into korea until I was sent an e-mail a few days ago sayig i needed to go to london to the korean embassy. my problem now is that they said it would take 5 days to do it. i told them my situation and they said they could do it in 2 days but that is impossible as i leave then from manchester. they said 1 day is impossible. i dont know what to do. i feel stupid and partially accept responsibility but i really feel my boss should of told me when he e-mailed me asking if i had recieved the form, shoiuld of mentioned at some stage once you recieve it you need to go to london. i can change my flight now till later and have my proof of my job but no visa stamp. could i still get in then go to japan, this seems like possibly the best option? maybe they would still pay or i could negotiate something. I just checked and i cannot change my flight over there, i would just lose the money
someone help please

Changing your flight(at your own expense) seems like a pretty good option to me. |

whys isnt ur school paying for the flight. i think it's ur boss' fault 100% for not telling u, therefore he can pay for a visa run to japan when u get here. just come in a visitors visa, and if they ask, say u arent teaching until u go to japan, and they wont have a problem or susspect that u are going to teach illegally (without a visa) |

If you can change your flight, then that's exactly what you should do.
Sorry dominic, but I have to disagree with you on that one. Trying to get your boss to accept responsibility for this and making him pay for a trip to Japan could be problematic. When was the last time a Korean boss said, "Yeah, you're right. It was my fault. I'll take full responsibility and fix it for you."? |

Can you change your flight to go directly to Japan. you can have your visa issued there overnight, same day if you are early enough. It would only delay your arrival by a couple of days. It may be well worth your expense to do that. Hope it all works out.
I agree whole heartily with J.B.Clamence,don't blame your boss, not a good start. |

i was ready to reject the job after i signed the contract becasue my recruiter said my boss moved to another building and lost my degree. i said you're paying for that and the fees that it's gonna cost to send my visa application to monreal in 3 hours, that was fedex, i had 24 hours to get my visa papers to monreal get the stamp and have it fedexed back, they did it and i was on the plane, but it was his fault that i only had one day to get the visa. he paid all my costs, to replace my degree and the 150 dollars i spent for the visa and mailing and faxing costs. he was going to send me to japan if i couldnt get the visa in time because he knew it was his fault |

First of all mate, if you're going to post on a board full off engrishee teachers fer chrissakes use sum punctuation, dudes will be all over you in no time correcting you.
Second, you are off to a rocky start. Take a deep breath, figure out how much it will cost you to back out of this deal compared to how much you will earn next year. Take your time, do another deal, use this experience to help you cross all the T's and dot all the I's when you do another deal next week or next month.
Relax man, there's a pile of jobs here, get new transcripts etc, (Don' cost much) and try again. |

Can you apply for another job and another visa after you already have the blue paper? I've heard that sets off red flags at immigration big time. |
