Before you get job teaching I suggest you do a spell check of your title and the first line in your thread.

Find out what books they use. Some franchise owners will get different books than the "GnB" books which are utter crapola. I would not teach using those books. So if the GnB in Pyeongtaek is gungho about using them, find another school. I lived in Pyeongtaek and there isn't much to do.

Be prepared for it if you want the job.

Check out my "Work in Asia" page http://jadarite.wikispaces.com/workinasia

I talk more about it there.

I have quite a few friends in Pyeongtaek for public schools and hogwans.

Everyone I know there says to avoid the schools. There is a descent school that I have heard of in Songtong.

I have know about 8 or so people that have worked in the area. They usually enjoy working there for the first few months and then things get bad. The schools threaten not to reimburse airfare until teachers have completed the year contract, but then the schools find a way not to pay the airfare anyway. How they do this is that they sign you for a year but have you start working after the start date on the contract. The courts go by the day you started working in the country and not by the date on the contract. Beware of this scam!
