Sorry to drag another supplement thread to the top, but...
Is that $10 International shipping on www.bodybuilding.com a thing of the past? I tried to put a fairly modest order in and they wanted $56 to ship it. |

i've ordered whey protein and fish oil from Iherb and I never had pay any kind of duty tax so I'm not sure what the issue is but something is wrong.
The first time I ordered something off iherb it was held up because they needed my ARC number and why I was ordering it, so once I gave them my number and said the supplements were for my own personal use there were no problems. So for orders after that I just include that info in an email to iherb customer service along with my order number and I've never had any issues since. But I have never had to pay a duty tax or anything more than the original shipping price. |

I'm curious, because I have NEVER experienced this. I would say I bring in 30-40 bottles of vitamins, supplements, OTC and Rx meds every time I come into Korea with no problems. Either you're terribly unlucky or I'm terribly lucky. |
Do you put it in your checked bags or carry on?
That's quite a few bottles, what do they say when they see that?
And what do you say?
I need to bring some Rx meds that are indeed prescribed to me but
nowhere near 30-40 bottles!
You don't anticipate any problems? |

I am in exactly the same situation. I have maltodextrin and dextrose that I will probably have sent to me along with Flaxssed oil (that I had ordered from the States on bb.com for an extortionate postage rate). Can anyone see any problems sending these goods into Korea as the Flaxseeoil is a perishable item and the malt and ex are white powders.
But I want to bring carnitine (an amino) and sida cordifolia with me but am worried about customs.
Whey I figure I will have to get from mass119.

I have never had any problems. It's in my checked bags except for what I'll need on the plane. |

Well, I've never had anyone even look twice or once for that matter at my meds at immigration in any country. I'm just thinking they'll be a little more inquisitive since I'd be staying a whole year and not just there on a vacation visit. |

I bring in vitamins, protein powder and OTC medicine in fairly large amounts with no problems. I used to take the protein out and put it in baggies but the last time I just left it in the jar.
But what about getting it in Korea? www.bodybuilding wants more to ship it than the protein costs--about $40 for five lbs. That puts it at about the cost of local Internet sources such as health49.com.
Anybody got any better sources? |

| I'm getting ready to leave for Korea in March, and I'm getting a stockpile of my usual supplements ready. I was just curious as to what supplements you guys usually have no trouble getting locally without being overcharged - such as fish oil, multivitamins, greens powder, creatine mono etc. |
u wont get any of that here. if so, the quality sux and its easily 5 times the price from north america. |
You can get all of that here in abundance at prices similar to North America. Some supplements are cheaper here. |

Namdaemun Market. There's an "international" imported goods section downstairs. I got a 10 lb. bag of Optimum Nutrition Whey for 80,000. |

From the website:
"International Postal Service 7 - 14 Days starting at $9.99! This service is very popular for our smaller, lighter packages. The rates for International Postal Service are based on the weight of the package. Depending on what is in your shopping basket, the rate will be different. To find out what the fee will be for your order, simply click ORDER next to the products you want to put in your shopping basket. These shipments are delivered by your local post office and will take about 7 to 14 business days to arrive. Tracking numbers will NOT be made available online for most packages that are shipped with this shipping method." |

I always stay under the 150,000 won limit when ordering from iherb. Other than that I've had no problems. I use them for all my supplements now. I just placed a big order for some vitamins that came in around 140,000 won. I think they have good shipping rates to Korea as well. Didn't seem to expensive.
Here is an iherb discount code. KOR909 saves $5 off your first purchase at http://www.iherb.com |

| Ya I love iherb. Lame to resurrect a 2 year old thread to tout your coupon code. I could understand if you added to a recent thread. |
