Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone has any comparative input about these two recruiters. I've heard good things about both of them but I'm undecided about which one to send my paperwork off to. |

you mean paperowrk as in CV/photo or paperwork as in proof of degree etc? If CV then send to as many as you want? If proof of degree, the one that gets yo the best job. |

yes, for hagwon, use as many recruiters are you want....but for PS only use 1 recruiter. SMOE and GEPIK will reject you if they receive multiple applications from different recruiters.
If you`re going for a PS job, I recommend Korvia ahead of the 2 mentioned. |

i've tried both, and although rowan at esl planet seemed like a nice guy, i don't think he has the best relations with the korean public school boards (which affected the kinds and number of positions he had available). i'd go with canadian connection. |

I tried working with korvia but had a bad experience. They weren't as professional as I assumed, forgot information, scheduled an interview at the exact time a date I said I couldn't, and then said I was at fault for all the mistakes even when I proved it was their fault. Ergo I decided not to work with them. Because I decided to switch just recently (and I'm currently waiting for my documents back) I was told the deadline for to apply for GEPIK was the 17th of Jan and I need to get all my paperwork (Degree, transcript etc.) to one of them by the 14th. I'm just trying to decide who to send it off to since I just started to work with both and haven't had any job offers. |

I respectfully disagree. I worked with Rowan and he was great. There was NO BS. As a former exec that used recruiters, too many tell you what you want to hear to get your business. Rowan has none of that. He not only has a good reputation, he'll tell you the facts even when it is bad for him. A stand up guy. Amen. |

i had a disappointing experience with him: i told him exactly what i was looking for - a public school with SMOE or GEPIK and he kept sending me information on independent public schools. he ended up rushing me with my documents (to send them to him) and then he sat on them for months while sending me offers on schools i expressly said i didn't want.
i have no doubt he's a nice guy and i think he was honest with me, but the lack of positions he had available (this was in the spring/summer semester before the late august intake) was a huge disappointment. |

I'll throw in another recommendation for esl-planet. I went through Walter there, and he was very helpful. When things got crazy after 11 months, he helped out, and he even helped get me my severance 13 months after I started at a hagwon through him. |
