| the visa will take up a full page, and unfortunately, i think you might be right about the consulate not being too eager to place a visa on one of the amendment pages (though i have no reason to think this - just a hunch...). however, you can get pages added to your passport, which would give you plenty of space, without having to apply for a whole new one. i'm not sure how you would go about doing it from there (assuming you're in the states), but in korea and other foreign countries, you can just head down to the u.s. embassy and apply/pay to have new pages put in. it takes about a week to get done if i remember correctly. |
I just got it done the other day. At the embassy it takes hours, not days. I dropped it off around 10:30am and it was ready by 3:00 pm. It's more or less a little booklet that they securely tape inside your passport with a visa-sized sticker stating the booklet's purpose and authenticity. |

Well, now I'm more than a bit confused. My gut is telling me that I should make the trip to LA to get the darned pages regardless, but if I could make it over to the ROK without the hassle, I'd send the friggin passport on arrival for the extra pages.
I wish I lived closer to either of the centers, but I'm on the Central Coast, which means a 7 hour round trip either way. Looking at the map of where the centers are, I'm happy enough to be as close as I am geographically, but still a pain (costing money).
Curiousaboutkorea - thank you so much for your help, any chance you were in CA? I'm biting my fingernails over here. |

| I'll call both consulates tomorrow to try to get some info either way. Thanks again for all the responses. |

| YOu're going to need a full page for the visa, plus space for them to stamp when you arrive in Korea. |
