Just checked the website. Looks like a 10+% jump from a few weeks ago. This is surprising because the dollar/ won exchange rate has been improving lately.

Did the baht jump in value or does this reflect fuel prices?

What gives?

Most likely, simple demand. All the cheaper seats are sold out since almost all flights to SE Asia from Korea are full 'till well after Seolal. That means if any seats are available, they feel that they can ask a higher price.

I guess many people are sick of the cold weather and they want to get out.

There are a couple of new airlines, Zest and Jin Air for Philippines / Thailand, but I was trying to book a holiday somewhere and everything is stuffed. One measure that Korea is doing okay is that it seems impossible to get a flight out anywhere lately. But if you go to Air Asia / Jet / Tiger sites and such, flights within Thailand seem about the same.

Jin Air does look good, Incheon - Bangkok daily nonstop for $426US return.

Not sure if it includes tax.
