| I am a filipina married to an American who used to have workas a professor last semester in Seoul. I got my visa. I applied for F-3 but they only gave me C-3. Our problem is I'll be arriving in Korea on Feb 22, 2010 and my tourist visa will expire on March 3, 2010. So that means I only have 1 week there. Before, we planned to change it to F-3 but he lost his job and he wasn't able to find one until now so I can't be his dependent since he will study and change his visa to student's visa instead. Can I extend my tourist visa? How many weeks or months will be the extension? What is the best thing to do? I am looking for teaching position, too since I have a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching English. Any suggestions and advice will be appreciated. Thanks! |

I don't think the Philippines is one of the countries on the E2 list for teaching, so I'm not sure how much luck you'll have finding work. The only Filipinos I've met here have been labourers (admittedly not that many). I don't know if the E1 or E7s have the same restrictions on countries, so you might have luck getting work at a university or an English village. |
