Cool. Congrats on knowing where you'll be teaching!
That is three people who interviewed the same day my docs were received by the office in Korea and have at least heard their MOE/POE. Interesting. |

I thought I'd post here as I seem to be in the same boat as tampabulls. All my docs have been received and I passed the interview easily, but, I have yet to get a contract. My recruiter told me that she is sure I will be placed as long as I am flexible about my location. However, it seems like she could be just stringing me along to have as many applicants as possible.
Also, jakub_s wrote that from the 100 applications footprints sent in only 31 have heard a reply. My recruiter from worknplay said that 17 out of 50 have heard back. I can't be sure, but it seems that they've accepted about 1/3rd of applicants so far. I just hope that there are still some positions left.
Looking back I figured I would have heard news by now and would be booking flights, and arranging a move. I wish they'd give me more notice! If I am accepted it seems like I will have less than a month's notice.
Sorry about the long winded post, any thoughts? |

My documents were received November 30th, and I just found out yesterday that I got Daegu and the contract is on the way. I hadn't heard anything until then and I still feel a bit in the dark since that's about all I know. |

If you were offered a position, and accepted it, and sent your papers in, then the only issue seems to be whether you have what's needed for a visa, since you've already been offered a position. That's my understanding anyway. |

Yeah, the issue is that I don`t have everything needed for a visa, until I get my contract. That`ll hopefully arrive soon.
But I also still don`t know when I should be booking my flight for or when orientation starts. I would hope that information would come with my contract, but I wouldn`t be surprised if it didn`t. |

Orientation is Feb 17, no word on a location yet though, as far as I know. |

I've heard there will be two orientations, one on the 17th (Jeonju) and one on the 18th (Ulji), depending on your location. I'd just like to know for sure before I get a ticket. |

I received my contract yesterday (Jan. 11) and with it came my Notice of Appointment and some informaiton about everything to come.
There will be two green sheets stapled together with some information about applying for an E2 visa, booking a flight, arrival, medical information and orientation.
It seems they leave all the orientation details to the last minute:
"There will be detailed information about the orientation place, date, etc. on the EPIK website in early-February" (from the green information sheet).
The sheet also mentions an online orientation covering basic teaching principles and Korean culture. I have not received any word about this from my recruiter, but I'll be sure to ask and let you all know what she says.
Orientation doesn't actually start until Feb. 18. They want you to arrive the 17th, but it will be a "study" day. Teachers will be arriving all day, so it doesn't make sense to go over any important information that day. |

BTW - The online orientation is NOT mandatory.
Also, I would wait until you have your visa in-hand to buy your ticket. Just in case there are any problems/delays... |

Damn. My documents were received in Korea and noted as complete on November 16. My old roommate had his interview in December and his documents were received right before Christmas. He got word about his placement last week and received word that his NOA is on the way.
I have a bad feeling about this. |

After waiting for a while my hope is fading as well. My docs were received on Dec. 11th. For some reason I think I'm being given the cold shoulder. My recruiter told me to "please keep waiting a bit longer." Seems to me like EPIK is done and has filled all their spots. If that were the case, when would I find out about my rejection? |

My recruiter told me a couple of days ago that all of the positions with EPIK were filled. I was told that I had a position and had to wait for an NOA, then was told at the last minute that actually I wasn't selected. Just FYI. If you have heard from them then find out what is going on. |
