I'm looking for a good jjimdak place some where around the Itaewon and surronding areas.
Can any one recomend a place and tell me how to get there? |

I don't know about Itaewon, but based on my impression, Gwangju City in Jeollanamdo is famous for its jimdalk. |

| There's an AnDong Jjimdalk in Myeondong, but I couldn't begin to give you directions. I can't remember how to find anything in Myeondong. |

Your best bet to find a succulennt dish of Jjimdak 찜닭 (Andong steamed chicken, chili peppers, potatoes, clear noodles, leeks and carrots braised in a spicy sauce of garlic, sweet syrup and soy sauce would be -
Myeongdong (명동) area, simply ask around, and you shall find.
This restaurant in Seoul speacialises in it - (sorry no English only Korean) http://www.bongchu.co.kr/
The restaurants only menu is jjimdak, and portions can be ordered by half a chicken, or whole chicken. For those rice lovers, you may order rice and eat it with the remaining sauce. Currently, the franchise holds stores in Seogyo, Myeongdong, Seocho, Jongno, Sinchon, and Hongdae.
Telephone
Seogyo Store - (02) 324-5188 (Korean)
Myeongdong Store - (02) 318-6981 (Korean)
Seocho Store (02) 596-6981 (Korean)
Jongno Store - (02) 723-9381 (Korean)
Sinchon Store (02) 63-3623 (Korean)
Hongdae Store (02) 323-9381 (Korean)
Menu -
Jjimdak (seasoned and simmered chicken) 20,000 ~ 34,000 won (for 3~4 people)
OR try this one at Myeongdong -

No, there isn't an AnDong Jjimdalk in Myeongdong, there are at least half a dozen Andong Jjimdalks in Myeongdong. You can't throw a stone in Myeongdong without hitting one (and taking out several Japanese on the ricochet).
Andong Jjimdalk is basically in every neighborhood in Seoul though, it is really not hard to find. |
