|
|
Hi
I would welcome some information on this topic. My wife has recently joined me in Korea. Though we are not in a hurry to find a job, we want to learn about rules and possiblities.
I am an indian working as an engineer since 2008. My wife is a Filipina. She has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Singapore and has 2 year Postdoctoral experience from a university, also in Singapore.
1. Are people with F-3 visa allowed to work.
2. Or Does she have to find a proper job and change her visa status before she can work.
3. How about options of Part-time Work for candidates such as my wife ??
We do not know much about Korean rules so will appreciate any advice on this matter.

I've been told that it IS possible, but there are tons of hoops to jump through. Maybe check with immigrations?
Though with her qualications, wouldn't it be easier for her to just get a work visa for herself? |

Most likely not possible for her to work if she comes on a dependent visa. Good luck! |

Definitely call immigration. I've always read that F3s cannot legally work.
Since she is filipina, does she have any other citizenship? She wouldn't qualify for an E2 teaching visa either and her only choices might be E1 professor at a university or E7 at an English village. I don't think those two visas have the same country restrictions. |
