So, I randomly clicked a link on the Yahoo Korea main page (it automatically comes up when I try to check my mail. the picture looked interesting).

Now my Korean skill is close to nil, so I'm seeking a bit of help here. From what it seems, it's a serious blog page about PETA and their actions. However, scrolling though, I came across an embedded video, between a third and halfway down the page. It's a The Onion spoof on how PETA treats it's protesters. Is the blog page really taking it seriously, or do they realize the joke. Thanks to anyone who can help. |

It would not surprise me. I've met north Americans who have taken The Onion seriously...usually they were fans of FOX news as well. It takes all kinds to make a world, and they are ALL here!

People in Korea have taken the Weekly World News seriously, so the fact that they are doing so with The Onion is a small step in the right direction.

Hmm, this makes me second guess my plans to use some of The Onion's videos in my conversation classes next semester...or maybe I should keep that thought: it could lead to some interesting discussions (I should see what happens with some of the more extreme stories, like the one on outsourcing day care to India)!

Unfortunately, lower forms of parasitic humans are unable to comprehend irony, sarcasm, parody, satire, and such.
