Hey guys,
I thought this would be a great way to get to know each other even if we are all over the planet. Let's meet Sunday at 10pm on Second Life at this location;
Location Marker; Chain of Love, EC Beach Community (208, 150, 594).
If there are any djs out there that want to dj the event. Please let me know.
Thanks!

the negativity on this forum is limitless, even by korean apologists
op: i'm not on second life nor am likely to spend time to but if you want people on dave's to join second life maybe post athread about it on the off topic forum (i didn't even realize second life still existed, having seen a story about it a couple of years ago, seemed like a neat alternative to playing xbox, nintendo, starcraft and whatever else computer game timewasters posters engage in |

SL has really evolved over the years and I am meeting people from all over the world through this virtual reality.
Here's a video of someone's school;

My business isn't quite as nice as this, but it's beginning to look nicer.
SL will become bigger and bigger in the years to come. |

I doubt it. It was slightly popular for a little while, some companies were setting themselves up in it, then it became infested with flying genitalia and they all pulled out. The only place that gets any foot traffic is the adult island. All the "nice" stuff is a ghost town. |

So not quite as you say, unless you meant from 2008 to 2009. Do you have some stats that Linden doesn't have?
No, all the big companies haven't pulled out. BBC and CNN just opened offices there as well as many other places. Role playing games is huge while are other venues.
I am finding it particularly useful with my friends and agents. Rather than connect through skype...which is good...this is much more interactive. My agents can also introduce me to clients through this medium.
After the movie Avatar...this is only going to increase in popularity. While there are other reasons why it will, the biggest is that most people want an escape. |

Linden's stats are self-serving. There was just an article written by a guy who'd done a big piece on it a few years ago who went back and wrote about it again.

there is no reason to think avatar would spur interest in second life. Its a very old engine with little point and little to actual keep it going besides virtual sex trade. |

| If you are in Korea, why don't you pick out a real location? I'm a big fan of online gaming, but that's going a little too far. |

Great article.
Well tomorrow I am off to a business luncheon on SL at 12pm SL time. The spiritual community on SL is thriving...I have met a lot of people and it is a great way to connect with people from all over the world.
I have agents in India, China, and Korea and we will be meeting on SL instead of skype. Makes things a lot more interesting. I guess it's not for everyone, but I definitely seeing it becoming more and more popular in years to come. |
