Not sure how accurate this chart is, but it shows S. Korea buying more porn than Japan, so at least they beat them in something.

Interesting little chart. I like the small print at the top of the page under "PORNOGRAPHY", about even cave men painting porn on the insides of caves. Makes you wonder what they would think about all we have at our mouse's "fingertips" nowadays...

When I was a backpacker years ago at a hostel in australia, there was this korean dude, about 20, who sat on the steps in front of the hostel openly reading pornographic magazines...and trying to show them to other people...including women. That was the first Korean I ever came across. I get the feeling he arrived in the west and assumed western culture was more "open".

According to this chart, more than 3/4 of the world's porn is bought by East Asians (China, Japan, Korea). I wonder why that is. South Korea has a much smaller population than the USA but they still buy a lot more porn and so does Japan despite America making most of the world's porn. Maybe a lot of Americans and Europeans just don't want to pay for porn and only look at free sites.

I bet most of the 5% other is the Middle East. Before I had my laptop and went to netcafes a lot of times I saw guys here in Turkey looking at porn, even though it's often filtered and they have signs up saying not to look at it. Once I even saw a guy jerking off in a dark corner.

Funny how Utah buys the most porn in America, must be the Mormons.

This reminded me of a site where someone reviewed some erotic video games. It's really hilarious. The Korean game boong ga boong ga is too weird to be believed. I'd say the site is mostly work-safe, it's not a porn site.

What happened to East Asian people...

China has been taking great effort these days in putting out porn on internet...

By doing which, I guess the government is going to stimulate the domestic porn industry (eg. brothels in disguise)...Considering how much money Chinese spent on porn according to this chart and the vast majority of porn are imported.

Considering the lack or porn shops since it's illegal in korea...I do wonder how it's even possible when koreans tend to pirate everything video.....this statistic sounds like BS.

Ah? You've misunderstood the pie-chart. It shows revenue in various countries - Koreans spend a lot on porn.

If those numbers are true that is really incredible though - 50 million Koreans spend as much money on porn as 1.1 billion Chinese people.

Koreans must be getting ripped off really badly for these numbers to be real.
