I have been teaching in Korea for a year now, and am wondering which is more preferable by schools in Korea (public schools, hagwons, universities, etc.): TEFL or TESOL certification?
Also, is an on-line TEFL/TESOL certification acceptable by schools in Korea, or do they prefer teachers to be certified through TEFL/TESOL programs that are taught at actual on-site classrooms? |

| It doesn't matter to Korean schools. |

Be more impressed if they actually know what those things are.

Thanks for the info.
Anyways, just for clarification:
1.)Is TESOL certification more preferable than TEFL certification when I apply for a public school position in Korea?
2.) Also, are there teacher certifications that are more valued by Korean public schools than either TEFL or TESOL? |

| Get a TESOL because it has one more letter than TEFL. More letters = better. |
