The search function is not working, so...

What should I wear? What do you get away with wearing?

Thanks.

Business casual. Overdress for the first week and have a look at what the other people in your office are wearing.

At my highschool, men usually wear black pants with golf shirts and blazers. Women can branch out a bit more but if you're female, avoid showing any cleavage. Black pants + a button-down shirt or a sweater is perfectly fine.

I usually wear a polo and khakis, though sometimes I wear jeans. Many of the female teachers also wear jeans but I have only seen one adjoshi wearing them... come to think of it, I never see adjoshi wear jeans anywear, just plaid print or those black hiking pants.

This is a good idea. Try to dress at the same level as your co-. One of my co-teachers is the Head Teacher and wears a suit every day. So I wear a suit about once a week and dress decently the other days. My other co- is more casual so I wear jeans and sweaters with her.

Also, try to find out in advance when photo day is. Some Koreans have a tendency to forget to tell you about it. Wear your best for this day. Same for the first day of school in March.

I have a Korean friend who felt that he couldn't wear jeans anymore because he was in late 30's. Apparently this idea of age appropriate pants is common here in Korea.

The life cycle for a Korean male seems to be diapers, to jumpers, to jeans, to khakis, to polyester knit pants, to the graveyard.

Hey, thanks for the tips. I will investigate the situation of my school and make a decision based off of that.

Jeans or kakhi's, rugby shirts (spring and fall), hooded sweatshirts (winter) and Hawaii shirts (summer). Never had any problem with that in 4 years in Epik.
