Just a quick one.
What does the physical that you receive when you arrive in Korea entail?
I am just curious if this is a cold, naked, awkwardly taken temperature type physical, or do they just ask a few questions and take blood?
Thanks

It's very basic and quick. You won't be naked at any point. They take blood, do an eye exam, have a look inside your mouth, take a chest x-ray, measure your height and weight, blood pressure. I think that's it. |

the closest you'll get to naked is having to take off your shirt and put on a gown for the chest x-ray (you can change in a little room or behind a curtain though). |

Thank you too. Very quick and helpful. I am leaving for Northeast Seoul in mid February. I guess I should spruce up my profile because I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions on this site. I am very excited. |

All they did for me (last week) was take my height/weight and take some blood and urine. That was it. Why didn't they do they other things for me?
Then my director took my passport once she received the results and applied for my ARC. Is the ARC linked to the hospital visit too? |

There isnt a universal health exam.
You can pay 200 bucks to get the works done or you can pay 15 bucks at the local government clinic. |

Per Busan Immigration, all that they require are HIV and TBPE (drug) tests, so if that's what you request from your doctor, that's all they'll do. Any internal medicine (내과) clinic can do it. It was a blood test and a urine test, that's it. Cost me W40K.
I was also lucky enough to get the bonus of a bizarre sermon from my doctor about how important it is that the government do these tests because of all the "problems" ESL teachers have been causing here. |

they didn't even look inside my mouth; they did ask for a urine sample that took three beverages from a nearby Family Mart to provide |
