I believe I have read before that South Koreans aren't too fond of piercings unless they are on your ears. Mine is very tasteful, a small stud...but I am guessing I will have to take it out?? I took it out for my picture that I sent to them...
What do you think?
I can part with it...but don't want to unless I have to... |

IMHO, I'd say that if you want to be seen as an (ahem) educator and not a circus freak, it's better to take it out. The fact that you didn't include it in your picture says that you know this to be true. |

| I think that it depends a bit on how thick your skin is. If you're ok with being pointed at etc (which you likely will be as a foreigner anyway) then you could try leaving it in. I chose to take mine out before I came because I felt like I would stand out enough just being white and not super thin. (Just my opinion, but I've only been here for a month.) |

| I'm not in Korea yet but I was advised by a friend to take it out for work and put it back in during my free time. I am probably going to wear a retainer during work. I wore one for my old job and people never noticed it. |
