My Korean might not be good enough to understand everything in the ordering process on the website, but as far as I can tell, a foreigner can't order stuff online from Home Plus, because if you use a bank card, they demand an ID number and won't accept an Alien Registration number; and you can't use a credit card because foreigners can't get credit cards in Korea. This sucks!
Can someone please tell me that I'm wrong, and explain what to do?
Thank you |

Foreigners can get credit cards. The ID number issue, on the other hand, appears to be the result of a lack of research on the part of the programmer. The programmer neglected to include a verfication routine for ARC numbers. |

I have a Korean credit card. Does that mean I can order online, or is it still impossible? |

Yes, you can register and order online from HomePlus. I did it for months and have the same foreign ID as the rest of you. I used my Korean credit card to pay but I believe that you can use a Korean debit card (one that has a visa symbol on the front).
The first time you order it will take you some time to navigate around finding things, especially if your Korean isn't great. But once you've ordered something it is listed so that you can just put it in your cart the next time you shop. And the delivery is amazing. You choose the time period. |

I didn't know that foreigners could get credit cards in Korea. What bank(s) issued your credit cards? |

dutchschultz: Thanks for the information. I'll have to give it a try.
cwflaneur: I have a Shinhan card. A couple of other banks rejected me, but Shinhan approved me because I have an account there. |

Great - my account is with Shinhan too. I'll go there right now with my documents and see what happens.
As far as I remember the site only asked me for my ARC number when I tried to pay with my Korean bank card... not sure why. |
