My girlfriend and I are moving to China, from Korea, to work. We need to apply for our Z visas but unfortunately the Chinese embassy does not accept unsolicited applications. All applications have to be made through a 3rd party/travel agent. Does anyone know of any travel agents that have this service. I have tried emailing several places but so far none deal with Z visas.

thanks in advance

This is a good question. I am not sure if this will help or not but, on the street leading toward the Chinese embassy/consulate (as you head toward Namsan from Myeongdong station) there are a swag of visa agents and sometimes touts. It may pay to take a visit there during the day. If not perhaps a trip to HK will be needed. Good Luck.

Go to the travel agents next to the embassy - walk up the hill and to the right is a fairly big one. They have first hand knowledge on Chinese visas. I talked to a couple of them before when I tried to get a visa for my daughter before she got her Chinese passport, and they were very helpful.

There is a list on the Chinese embassy website of travel agents. Just phone around until you find someone who speaks English. If you speak Korea, then pick the one nearest where you live. Easy.

Thanks for the replies.

I should have mentioned in my original post that I'm actually not Seoul, I'm down in Changwon, on the south coast. I've emailed the embassy again. If they give me a list I'll post the names here.

There is a Chinese consulate in Busan. There are travel agents there that are knowledgeable, too. Try one of those.

I would get all my papers together and fly to Hk. I just did mine there and put my papers in on Monday morning and picked it up Tuesday at 10 am for only 400 Hk dollars (about 55 $). Stayed at the Ramada hotel in western districts for 450 Hk ( 60$). So it was a cheap trip and a day later took the boat to She kou China in Shenzhen and cabbed it out to the Shenzhen airport and took a flight to Shanghai. Easiest visa experience I ever had.
