I am a bit stuck.

I am currently applying for my first teacher job. I am using a few different sources for jobs and I have specified that I wish to work as close to Hongdae as possible (I have some dance classes that I plan to attend there on weekends).

It seems that there isn't much going around this area so I have agreed that i will go as far as an hour from Hongdae (Not sure how much more opportunity this will open up).

I was thinking. Is it maybe time to get more realistic seeing as I don't have any English teching experience. I actually love the mountains and outdoors (Snowboarder here Smile) - but those dance classes were keeping me near the big city.
Time to change location? (within South Korea of course).
Any thoughts on this?

Thanks a lot.

How often are the dance classes?
And surely they arent the ONLY ones in Korea? Try finding some other locations...

Otherwise you just need to sort your priorities... are the dance classes at the top of your list? If so, give it a little more time to try and find a job in that location.

I would suggest sending your resume to as many recruiters as you can!

Hey,

The classes will be at the weekend - And there are other classes (I am sure) but this is with a specific person who is like a god in this specific dance.
Also Seoul has the most opportunity for other practise spots as well.

It's pretty much top of my list as it's the main activity I will be participating in outside of teaching.

I initially thought I had to be loyal to one recruiter but I have now sent my details to about 7/8 - It has only been a couple a days. I guess I need to be less hasty.

Cheers for your reply.

Even though the classes are only on the weekend, I will probably be practising most nights as well (providing I get a practise spot and some friends).

I'll give it more time and see what happens

If its only in the weekends and not every day then look for a job anywhere in Seoul, check google maps to see how far it is from your classes... or check a subway map and try to get a job along the same line.

I really recommend finding a good job opposed to only location though, if the job sux it can make all the overall experience in Korea suck and youll just want to up and leave...
